Gomes da Silva is the new best Portuguese CEO
In Portugal, Galp - namely, Gomes da Silva - leads connections with investors. There is one Portuguese among the top 25 best CEOs in Europe: his name is Carlos Tavares.
Carlos Gomes da Silva was considered the best CEO in Portugal in terms of connections with investors. Galp’s CEO outdid João Manso Neto, from EDP Renováveis, currently a defendant in the case of CMEC (Costs of Maintenance of Contractual Equilibrium), along with António Mexia, Rui Cartaxo and other EDP and REN managers.
This year’s rating was carried out by Extel Survey, which chooses the 25 best European CEOs concerning their relationships with investors, and does not include any Portuguese CEO. However, the company also does a ranking for each country. In Portugal, Galp conquers: the petrol company has the best CEO and is considered the best company in their connections to investors, it has the best CFO (Filipe Crisóstomo Silva) and it also has the best professional to handle investors (Otelo Ruivo).
One Portuguese among the top 25 CEOs
There is no Portuguese company listed as the best in Europe; the list is headed by Tim Höttges, from Deutsche Telekom. Yet, there is one Portuguese among the 25 best European CEOs: Carlos Tavares, CEO of the PSA Peugeot Citröen group, in 16th place.
In the sector ranking, the Portuguese Ricardo Mendes Ferreira stands out in the paper and forest exploitation sector
