Galp’s CEO earned 1.6 million euros in 2016. Only the CEO of EDP surpassed his earnings
Galp's CEO earned 1.6 million euros in 2016, which means the executive committee's income increased 10%. From the PSI-20, so far, only Mexia's salary, EDP's CEO, surpassed Gomes da Silva's earnings.
Carlos Gomes da Silva, as CEO of Galp, received a total remuneration of 1.621 million euros in 2016. This is a 19% increase in comparison to the previous year’s remuneration, although the manager only took office in April of 2015. Only António Mexia, EDP’s CEO, received more in 2016, among the Chief Executive Officers whose companies are listed in the PSI-20.
According to the remunerations given to Galp, the executive committee of the Portuguese oil company received over six million euros in 2016, meaning income had a 10% increase in comparison to the previous year.
Carlos Gomes da Silva was the most well-payed: he received 980 thousand euros as a fixed remuneration, to which were added 285.6 thousand euros of variable remuneration, 245 thousand euros as a pension savings plan and 110 thousand in other benefits, totaling 1.6 million euros. As for Galp’s CFO Filipe Silva, he earned a 684.6 thousand euros income in 2016.
Among the listed companies who have published their governance reports, only António Mexia, EDP’s CEO, presented a larger remuneration than Gomes da Silva. Mexia received a total of two million euros concerning incomes and premiums in 2016.
Galp ended last year with a 483 million euros’ profit, 24% less than in 2015; the results were harmed by impairments in Angola’s oil exploitation. Dividends increased to 50 cents and in 2016, securities had a 32.37% increase.
