Cases of Covid-19 rise to 17,448. Death toll at 567
The Directorate General for Health (DGS) increased the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Portugal to 17,448.
The Portuguese health authorities found 514 new cases of Covid-19, increasing the number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the country from 16,934 to 17,448. A total of 347 people have already recovered from the disease.
The data collected by the Directorate General for Health (DGS) also shows that the virus has caused the death of 32 people in the last 24 hours. This information brings the total number of deaths caused by the pandemic in Portugal to 567.
Of the total number of cases, 1,227 people are hospitalized, 218 of whom are in intensive care units. This is an increase of 30 new cases subject to this type of hospitalisation compared to 188 on Monday. The remaining patients are being medically followed in their homes.
