Portugal: One reported death and 167 new cases of Covid-19

167 new cases of coronavirus have been identified in Portugal in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people increases to 51,848.

Portugal has registered 167 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This represents an increase of 0.32% compared to the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 51,848. In the last 24 hours, another person died from the disease, bringing the total number to 1,740, according to the latest update from Portugal’s health authorities.

Following what has been observed in recent weeks, most of the new infections were in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. 116 new cases have been identified in this region, representing 69% of the total cases from Portugal.

The bulletin released this Wednesday by the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) also shows that the number of patients admitted has fallen by 17 to 384, while the number of people in intensive care units is 41, three less than 24 hours ago.
