Kwanza depreciated against the euro after two gains

The Angolan kwanza depreciated against the euro Friday, after having gained ground twice this week, but this morning it was being traded at 351.350 kwanzas/euro, the central bank (BNA) of Angola said.

The Angolan kwanza depreciated against the euro on Friday after having gained ground twice this week, but this morning it was being traded at 351.350 kwanzas/euro, the central bank (Banco Nacional de Angola – BNA) said this Friday.

After hitting 354.726 kwanzas/euro a week ago, the Angolan current strengthened first to 352.084 kwanzas/euro and then 350.182 kwanzas/euro, according to the bank.

The kwanza has lost 47.23% of its value since the beginning of the year when it was worth 185.40 to the euro.

In relation to the US dollar, the kwanza gained a little ground from 310.693 kwanzas/dollar to 310.682, but it has also depreciated 46.594% against the dollar this year after the government decided to let the currency float on the market.
