Mercedes-Benz.io opens new office in Lisbon

Five years ago, Mercedes-Benz.io announced its investment in Portugal to locate its new centre of excellence in engineering.

Mercedes-Benz.io, the German carmaker’s subsidiary, announced the opening of a new office in Parque das Nações, Lisbon. The company, which already has over 300 workers in Portugal, is recruiting 140 more and guarantees that it will continue to invest in the country.

Five years ago, Mercedes-Benz.io announced its investment in Portugal to locate its new centre of excellence in engineering. A project that enters a new stage with the move to the new office at Torre Zen, in Parque das Nações, Lisbon.

The company already has over 300 employees in Portugal. Besides Lisbon, Mercedes-Benz.io is also present in Braga, where it employs 50 employees. Numbers that will grow with the opening of 140 vacancies. Besides Portugal, the company has offices in Berlin and Stuttgart.

“In May 2017, my team and I announced the opening here in Portugal. We knew Lisbon was the place to be in the digital world. And five years later, Lisbon and Portugal are the places to be and where we want to be,” said Sabine Scheunert, Vice President of Digital & IT Marketing and Sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars.

“Our presence in Portugal will continue to grow. We will continue to hire in software, design, data and analytics, and IT operations. This only reaffirms our conviction that Portugal is a country where we want to continue investing,” he added.
