The new space will merge the company's headquarters and operations in São João da Talha (Loures) and Olivais (Lisbon).

DPD announced an investment of €28 million to create a parcel distribution hub in Loures, in the Lisbon region, with a total area of 12,000 square metres. The new space will merge the company’s headquarters and operations in São João da Talha (Loures) and Olivais (Lisbon).

The hub, which will become the company’s biggest parcel hub in Portugal after its completion in May 2023, will reinforce the response to deliveries in Lisbon, Odivelas, Loures, Vila Franca de Xira, Mafra, Torres Vedras, Alenquer and Carregado.

In 2021, DPD Portugal delivered 23.8 million parcels, up 10.8% from the previous year, with turnover rising to €88.5 million. In a statement, CEO Olivier Establet attributes this growth to the “significant and gradual increase” of online commerce in the country and the “ability [of the company] to keep up with the changing needs of B2B and B2C customers”.

Claiming the leadership in the domestic express transport market, DPD owns 15 stations in Portugal (Vila Real, Porto, Maia, Guarda, Viseu, Coimbra, Leiria, Torres Novas, Póvoa de Santa Iria, Lisbon, Corroios, Sintra, Évora, Faro and Funchal).
