Portugal is the eighth country to host the Norwegian company, listed on Euronext Growth with a market capitalisation of around €350 million.

Otovo will enter the Portuguese market within a month. Manuel Pina, until now General Manager of Uber in Portugal, was chosen to lead the Portuguese operation of this platform founded in Norway in 2016.

“We are proud and happy to get Manuel on the team. He is an exceptionally talented manager, with a proven track record. I am highly confident in his ability to make Portugal another successful market launch,” says Andreas Thorsheim, CEO of Otovo, quoted in a statement.

Portugal is the eighth country to welcome the Norwegian company, listed on Euronext Growth with a market capitalisation of around €350 million. “Our entry into Portugal was a natural decision. It is a country at the forefront of energy transition, with over 300 days of sunshine per year, so one of the countries in Europe that can benefit most from solar energy,” justifies the company leader.

“With energy prices skyrocketing, the Portuguese can make significant savings and at the same time reduce the emission of polluting gases caused by traditional energy solutions. We want to help Portugal achieve its solar energy potential,” adds Andreas Thorsheim.

Otovo is the only independent residential solar energy provider active across Europe, with access to over 500 qualified energy installers, and has already helped over 11,000 European households transitioning to solar energy in seven European markets.
