Besides Portugal, Volvo's electric vehicle brand will initiate operations in Spain and Ireland.

Polestar, Volvo’s electric vehicle brand, will enter Portugal, Spain and Ireland this semester. The Portuguese market will operate in what is described as a “satellite” logic of the Spanish market, reports the Jornal de Negócios.

“Most of our operations will be in charge of Polestar Spain, with a minimum number of employees in Portugal to manage local operations,” explained to the newspaper an official source of the brand, although he added that details about the arrival in the Portuguese market are “still scarce”.

Although the electric cars from Polestar can only be purchased online, the company has the ambition to create “a network of Polestar Spaces and/or Destinations in Portugal”. Still, without a defined location, these spaces will be used for vehicle experiences and tests: “They will be purely retail, test-drive and delivery facilities. They will support our 100% online purchasing process,” explained the manufacturer.
