The Portuguese government allows starting from this Tuesday non-essential travel to and from the United States of America. The measure is in force until 11:59 pm on June 27, although it can be reviewed “at any time, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation”.

Order No. 5848-B/2021, published in the country’s Official Gazette, allows “non-essential travel to and from the United States of America.”

At the same time, the State updated the list of countries “whose origin determines that flight passengers and citizens travelling by land, sea or river must comply with a 14-day quarantine after entering mainland Portugal”, “at home or at a place indicated by the health authorities”. In this scenario is South Africa, Brazil, India and Nepal, countries where there are variants that are concentrating the greatest concern because of their high transmissibility.

In addition, the government has also updated the list of non-EU countries from which travel is allowed without restrictions due to Covid-19. On this list are Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, Thailand, China, as well as Hong Kong and Macau.
