Hotels in Portugal will have seal of approval amid coronavirus crisis
Companies linked to tourism, from hotels to restaurants, can request the "Clean & Safe" seal of approval, which guarantees tourists compliance with health and safety recommendations.
Tourism is already starting to think about resuming activity and the major concern is, of course, the summer. For this, the Government decided with the sector that a seal of approval would be created to distinguish establishments, such as hotels and restaurants, which comply with safety and hygiene recommendations, to give more confidence to tourists.
It’ll be a sort of stamp, called “Clean & Safe”, which will “distinguish tourist activities that ensure compliance with hygiene and cleanliness requirements for the prevention and control of Covid-19 and other possible infections,” Turismo de Portugal says in a statement.
All tourist resorts can request this stamp, from restaurants to hotels, to touristic animation companies and travel agencies. In other words, “companies that have a registration in the National Tourist Authority,” Turismo de Portugal refers.
This stamp will be free and will be valid for one year. However, it requires companies to implement an “internal protocol which, under the recommendations of the Directorate-General for Health, ensures the necessary hygiene to avoid the risk of contagion and guarantees safe procedures for the tourist activities.”
The stamp can be requested from this Friday, online, on the platforms of Turismo de Portugal: National Register of Tourist Enterprises (RNET), National Register of Tourist Animation Agents, (RNAAT) and National Register of Travel Agents and Tourism (RNAVT).
