In total, 124 investment projects were contracted throughout this year, which will be spread across 70 municipalities across the country.

The secretary of state for Internationalisation said Wednesday that the amount of investment contracted by the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) in 2021 reached €2.7 billion, a record figure and double that recorded in 2019.

Speaking at the end of the Cabinet meeting in Lisbon, in which the drafts relating to 26 fiscal investment contracts were approved, Eurico Brilhante Dias, specified that the investment contracts contracted by AICEP throughout this year allow for the creation of 7,274 new jobs and the maintenance of 41,538 jobs.

“With these projects approved today, the value contracted by AICEP during 2021 will reach €2.7 billion by December 31 this year,” the minister said, noting that this is the “highest figure recorded in the entire history of AICEP” and double that recorded “in the best year ever, which was 2019.”

In total, 124 investment projects were contracted throughout this year, which will be spread across 70 municipalities across the country.

Eurico Brilhante Dias also specified that in relation to the 26 projects approved today, the largest – with an expected investment of €265.6 million and the creation of 405 jobs – is Korean.
