55 suspicious invoices denounce Isabel dos Santos

The documents raise suspicions of false consulting services from Matter Solutions Business. Approximately 19 invoices will have been issued on the day of the businesswoman's resignation.

A ruling by the Supreme Court of Angola reveals that Isabel dos Santos, after being removed from the presidency of Sonangol, will have sent EuroBic 55 invoices suspected of being false consultancy services of Matter Solutions Business, according to Correio da Manhã newspaper.

According to the document, Isabel dos Santos and Sarju Raikundalia will have diverted 131,148,782 dollars (110.7 million euros), in several operations, which were destined for the Dubai-based company. Of the 55 documents in question, “19 invoices were issued on the day of the dismissal” of the company’s board of directors.

The ruling reveals that “Sonangol’s Information Technology Management found that the same [19 invoices] were created in Sonangol’s system between 4:43 p.m. and 5:07 p.m. on November 15, 2017,” that is, after the resignation that occurred at 1 p.m. on November 15. In this context, “Sonangol was charged for services that were not rendered, but it paid for them,” the document states.
