Portugal's Public Prosecutor suspects Isabel dos Santos of owning a luxury property in the Algarve worth over three million euros.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) suspects that Isabel dos Santos is the owner of a mansion in the Algarve, in Quinta do Lago, worth over three million euros, according to the Correio da Manhã newspaper.

The mansion, according to CM, could be a tourism project and the investigators suspect that the luxury property was built with part of the money transferred from Sonangol to Dubai in 2017, when the Angolan businesswoman was president of Sonangol.

The Public Prosecutor also suspects that this mansion is owned by Isabel dos Santos, through the offshore company Burgate. The MP and the Judiciary Police searched the luxury property this month as part of the investigation into Isabel dos Santos. Days after the search, in a statement, the Angolan businesswoman denied being the owner of the villa in Quinta do Lago. The statement also stated that “the businesswoman Isabel dos Santos and her husband, Sindika Dokolo, have no property in the Algarve.”
