There are 266 new cases of coronavirus in Portugal. Death toll at 1,568

The number of cases of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 41,912. Since the outbreak was detected in the country, 1,568 people have died.

Portugal has registered 266 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.64% compared to the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 41,912.

Four more people died due to Covid-19, bringing the death toll to 1,568, according to the latest official bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS). The number of people reported as recovered is now 27,205.

Following what has been observed since mid-May, most of the new infections were in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. 225 new cases were identified in this region, representing almost 85% of the national total.
