Cases of Covid-19 rise to 22,797. Death toll at 854
The number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has increased to 22,797. There are now 854 deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 444 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Portugal, bringing the number of infected people to 22,797. So far the death toll stands at 854.
According to data collected by the Directorate General for Health (DGS), there are 22,797 confirmed cases, an increase of 1,99%, over the 22.353 registered on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, the coronavirus has killed 34 people.
In addition, 1,068 are being treated in hospitals (27 fewer than in the last 24 hours), 188 of which are in intensive care units (16 fewer). Most patients continue to be treated at home.
