Coronavirus cases in Portugal rise to 41

The number of people infected with coronavirus in Portugal continues to increase. Already 41 are infected with the virus responsible for Covid-19 disease.

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus in Portugal rose from 39 to 41, revealed the Directorate General for Health (DGS) in the latest update of the epidemiological bulletin. 27 cases are located in the north of the country, two on the borders, ten in the Lisbon region and two in the Algarve. There is no record of deaths associated with Covid-19 disease.

According to the Portuguese health authorities, there are 375 suspected cases and 83 are awaiting laboratory results. 667 people are under surveillance by the authorities.

The DGS has already identified six active transmission chains, with two cases imported from Spain, five from Italy and one, which is still under investigation but may have originated in Germany or Austria.
