In Portugal, 22.4% of the unemployed went back to the workforce in the 2nd quarter of the year

A fifth of the Portuguese unemployed population managed to return to the job market in the second quarter of 2016.

In Portugal, 22.4% of people who were unemployed in the first quarter of 2016 have reentered the job market between April and June – a lower percentage than the one registered in the homologous period of 2015 (25%), according to data brought forward by the Eurostat.

According the data disclosed today about the job market’s flows, in the European Union average (EU), 19.5% of unemployed have found a new job between the first and second quarter of the year, which is a higher number than the 18.7% from the homologous period.

According to the European Union’s statistical office, concerning the European average, 63.2% of the people unemployed between January and March have remained jobless on the second quarter of the year.
