Portugal places five management masters in FT top 100
Portugal has five management masters in the Financial Times global top 100, with Nova SBE rising to No. 2 for the first time.
Portugal has placed five Masters in Management programmes in the Financial Times 2026 global top 100, with Nova School of Business and Economics rising to second place for the first time. The result gives Portugal unusual visibility in a closely watched international business-school ranking and marks a new high for Nova SBE.
According to the ranking cited by the schools, Nova SBE moved up two places from fourth last year, overtaking France’s HEC Paris and INSEAD, while Switzerland’s University of St Gallen kept the top spot. Nova SBE said its alumni gave the programme an overall satisfaction score of 9.53 out of 10, while the school also highlighted a 92% score on whether graduates achieved their original goals and a seventh-place global ranking for career services.
Portugal’s other schools also improved or entered the table. Católica-Lisbon SBE rose five places to 25th, Iscte Business School climbed 25 places to 62nd, and Católica Porto SBE advanced 29 places to 66th, which ECOnews said was the biggest improvement in the 2026 ranking. ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management entered the list for the first time at 59th.
The schools also pointed to employability and career progression indicators. Católica-Lisbon SBE said 97% of graduates found work within three months, while ISEG said its programme had close to 100% employability and ranked eighth globally for career progress. Católica Porto SBE said it ranked first worldwide on career progress and reported 100% employment within three months, while Nova SBE said its programme had a 100% employability rate.
