ANA seeks higher airport charges in Lisbon, Porto and Faro
ANA has proposed raising regulated airport charges from January 2027, a move that could affect airline costs at Portugal’s three main airports.
ANA, Portugal’s airport operator, wants to raise regulated charges at Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports from January 1, 2027, in a move that could increase airline costs at the country’s main gateways. The proposal still needs approval from ANAC, Portugal’s civil aviation authority.
According to the proposal presented to airlines, regulated charges at Lisbon airport would rise by 0.67%, or 10 cents per passenger. In Porto and Faro, the proposed increase is 3.77% and 3.79%, respectively, equivalent to an extra 34 cents per passenger in both airports.
ANA expects a maximum average regulated revenue of €14.80 per passenger for the Lisbon airport group. The increase would be concentrated at Lisbon’s Portela airport, with no changes planned for Madeira, the Azores or Beja, according to the proposal.
The operator said the proposed charges do not include any impact from the planned Luís de Camões airport, which will have its own regulatory framework. ANA also wants to revise fees for passenger processing and aircraft parking, and to differentiate landing charges according to noise levels.
