Mota Engil's shareholders will meet this Monday to elect three new board members, including former CDS - PPS leader and former minister, Paulo Portas.

The shareholders of construction company Mota-Engil will meet on Monday at a general meeting to elect three new members to the Board of Directors, including the former leader of the centre-right CDS-PP Paulo Portas.

The meeting will discuss and vote on the acceptance of the resignation submitted by Xiangrong Wang to the post of member of the company’s Board of Directors, as well as on setting the number of members of the board at 17.

Another item on the agenda is the election, for the current term of office, corresponding to the 2021/2023 three-year period, of three new members to Mota-Engil’s Board of Directors: former government leader Paulo Portas, José Pinto Moreira and João Parreira, names proposed by shareholder Mota Gestão e Participações – Sociedade Gestora de Participações Sociais.

The fourth and last point aims to vote “on the fixing of the amount of the bond to be given by the elected members of the Board of Directors”.

In other words, “the members of the Board of Directors elected in relation to the previous item on the agenda shall provide a bond for the minimum amount legally established, or, alternatively, replace the bond with an insurance contract in favour of the company”.
