Bad weather hampering Lisbon bus, metro services

The national authority for emergency and civil protection (ANEPC) also reports that several roads have been cut in Loures, Odivelas and Torres Vedras and some roads are impassable in Lisbon.

The bad weather that is being felt this early Tuesday morning in Lisbon is affecting the circulation of Carris buses and the Metro is restricted at the stations of Jardim Zoológico and Chelas.

In a statement, the national authority for emergency and civil protection (ANEPC) also reports that several roads have been cut in Loures, Odivelas and Torres Vedras and some roads are impassable in Lisbon.

According to ANEPC, National Road (EN) 8 between Odivelas and Loures and the EN 250 in Frielas are cut off due to the overflowing of the river.

The EN115 at Rotunda das Oliveiras and A-das-Lebres, Loures, the accesses to the A8, in Loures, EN115-2 Maxial-Ermegeira due to a landslide, EN9 Ponte Rol, Torres Vedras, and Calçada de Carriche, Odivelas, are also cut off due to a landslide.

In Lisbon, the tunnels of Campo pequeno, Campo Grande, Avenida João XXI and Avenida de Berlim, the Eixo Norte-Sul, the Radial de Benfica, the Segunda Circular in the direction of Lisbon North, Avenida Infante D. Henrique near the Batista Russo Tunnel, Avenida de Berna, all accesses to the Praça de Espanha and Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian are impassable.

Also impassable are the Avenida de Ceuta, Alfredo Bensaúde, Estrada do Penedo, Alcântara (several locations), intersection Gago Coutinho with EUA, Sete Rios Square, Avenida de santo Contestável, Avenida 24 de Julho until Belém and Avenida de Ceuta near the access to the bridge 25 de Abril.

According to information from Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP – the country’s road and rail manager) sent to Lusa the access to the IC19 to Rio de Mouro, the N6 (Auto da Boa Viagem), access IC16 to the CRIL, Pontinha and access to the IC19 to Buraca are also cut.

The IP7 is also cut off in the North-South direction to the 25 de Abril Bridge.
