Qatar Sports Investment acquires stake in Sp. Braga

Olivedesportos sold a 21.67% stake in Sp. Braga to Qatar Sports Investments (QSI). The group led by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi already owned Paris Saint-Germain and KAS Eupen. 

Qatar Sports Investments Group (QSI) have acquired a minority stake (21.67%) in Sporting Clube de Braga. The group led by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi already owned Paris Saint-Germain, from France, and the Belgian club KAS Eupen.

Sp. Braga has confirmed to the Portuguese Securities and Exchange Commission (CMVM) that the Qatar group has acquired a 21.67% stake that belonged to Olivedesportos. The operation will be completed in the coming months.

“As an investor and partner, we look forward to the club innovating, growing and developing further – across the men’s and women’s teams, on the commercial and brand side, and across all the communities and businesses it supports – as Sp. Braga continues its ambitious path,” says QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in a statement, quoted by The Athletic.

The president of Sp. Braga, António Salvador, believes this is “the right shareholder to accelerate” the club’s growth and expansion, helping them deliver “amazing potential.”
