GreenVolt invests €30 million in solar farm
The solar panel plant located in Tábua covers an area of approximately 90 hectares, with an installed power of 48 megawatts.
GreenVolt has invested €30 million in the purchase, installation and connection of about 90,000 solar panels in Tábua, the company’s Director, Carlos Coelho, told Lusa on Monday.
“There are about 90,000 [solar] panels that cost approximately €30 million,” he said.
The work, which is under construction in Tábua, near Coimbra, will be completed in the last quarter of the year.
The solar panel plant covers an area of approximately 90 hectares, with an installed power of 48 megawatts.
“We can estimate that it will provide clean energy, green energy, to more than 20,000 homes,” he stressed.
GreenVolt, which is a company linked to renewable energies, with assets in several European countries, will produce the energy in Tábua and will then “inject it into the [national electricity] grid” to be sold “at market price”.
“The work that will contribute to the country’s decarbonisation,” stressed GreenVolt’s Director.
GreenVolt operates in the biomass sector, in the promotion of wind and solar photovoltaic projects and in the distribution of renewable energy generation.
