Portugal sees 8,833 new cases, 25 Covid-19 deaths in last 24 hours

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin of the DGS, 1,400 people are hospitalized this Wednesday, 42 more than on Tuesday, while in intensive care units there are 90 patients, six less.

Portugal has recorded 8,833 new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the last 24 hours, 25 more deaths associated with Covid-19 and an increase in hospitalisations, the health authority (DGS) said on Wednesday.

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin of the DGS, 1,400 people are hospitalized on Wednesday, 42 more than on Tuesday, while in intensive care units there are 90 patients, six less, although not all hospitalizations are due to Covid-19, and may be due to other conditions despite the existence of infection with SARS-CoV-2.

The number of active cases rose Wednesday, to 473,541, 8,129 more than on Tuesday, and in the last 24 hours, 679 people have been reported recovered, for a total of 2,787,805 since the start of the pandemic.
