Efacec signs contracts worth over €30 million with Red Eléctrica de España (REE)

The contracts include the supply of over 20 power transformers for substations of the 400kV transmission network in Mainland Spain and the 245kV network in the Canary Islands.

Red Eléctrica de España (REE), the company that manages the energy network in Spain, chose Efacec to modernize its power transmission grid. The contracts, worth more than €30 million, include the supply of over 20 power transformers for substations of the 400kV transmission network in Peninsular Spain and the 245kV network in the Canary Islands.

Efacec explained in a statement that “this supply will be carried out until 2024 under contracts established last semester, worth more than €30 million”. These projects reinforce the Portuguese company’s presence in the Spanish market, where it has been present for almost 30 years, with over 25,000 MVA of transformers in operation in various utilities.

According to the same statement, these new projects “renew REE’s confidence in Efacec’s technical skills, particularly in Shell transformer technology, where the Portuguese company is one of the world leaders.”

For Michael Silva, Chief Commercial Officer of Efacec, “These contracts consolidate and strengthen our close collaboration with the Spanish market and, in particular, with the Spanish Transmission and System Operator. It is with great satisfaction that we are developing this project that attests Red Eléctrica de España’s trust in Efacec and in the excellence of our technical solutions.”
