According to British Airways, the flights will be made between London's Gatwick airport and 35 other destinations, including Faro.

British Airways will launch next March a new operation of short-haul flights with low-cost prices. According to the airline, the flights will be made between London’s Gatwick airport and 35 other destinations, including Faro. With this decision, the British company will become a direct competitor to EasyJet, which is currently the largest airline at Gatwick airport.

From March, it will then be possible to travel between London and 35 other cities in Europe and Africa, including Athens, Berlin, Faro, Ibiza, Madrid, Malaga, Marrakech, Milan Malpensa, Santorini and Tenerife. Tickets start from £39 (€46).

To go ahead with this operation, an “entirely separate entity” will be created, although flights will continue to be operated on behalf of British Airways, The airline explained. To this end, agreements on wages and working conditions have been negotiated with pilots and cabin crew.

Initially, there will be three Airbus short-haul aircraft flying between these destinations, but the company intends to have 18 aircraft operating by the end of May. From October, the flights will be operated under the BA Euroflyer name.
