Ericsson announces new President and CEO for Iberia region
Andrés Vicente succeeds Javier García Gómez, who had held the position on an interim basis since June 2020.
Andrés Vicente has just joined the Ericsson team as the multinational’s president in the Iberia region, including the company’s businesses in Portugal, Spain, Andorra and Gibraltar, as well as CEO of Ericsson Spain, roles he will assume from October 1.
“Ericsson is at the forefront of 5G deployment worldwide and has an especially relevant role in Spain and Portugal, where the technology is extremely important for both countries’ economic ambitions. I am very honoured to join this company and the opportunity it represents to lead this path towards an exciting future, in partnership with all mobile network operators,” said Andrés Vicente, quoted in a statement.
The new president for the Iberian region and CEO of Ericsson Spain joins the Group from Vodafone Spain, where he was for over 25 years. He succeeds Javier García Gómez, who had held the position on an interim basis since June 2020.
