The revenue performance in Q2 and H1 "remains sustained and on the growth path, totalling €550.7 and €1,099.8 million, which translates into year-on-year growth of 10.3% and 7.6%," says the company.

Altice Portugal posted revenues of €550.7 million in the second quarter of the year, a growth of 10.3% explained by an “economic context that has partially returned to normality”. In the first half of the year, it generated almost €1,100 million, with the EBITDA showing a growth of 1.4%.

The revenue performance observed in Q2 and H1 “remains sustained and on the growth path, totalling €550.7 and €1,099.8 million, respectively, which translates into year-on-year growth of 10.3% and 7.6%,” says Altice Portugal, pointing to “the gradual lifting of pandemic-related containment measures.”

However, the operator led by Alexandre Fonseca says that “the national social and economic context continues to suffer from the pandemic effects, although we are already seeing some recovery,” especially in the second quarter. In the first six months of 2021, the recorded increase in revenues compares with a period marked by “no revenue from premium sports content”, “a lower volume of equipment sales” and “a drop in roaming revenues.”

Given the growth in revenues, “EBITDA increased in the second quarter of 2021, with +5.9% compared to the second quarter of 2020 and with an improvement of 4.3% compared to the previous quarter”. In the first six months of 2021, Altice “recorded an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.”

At the same time, Altice Portugal boosted investment. The operator reveals that “investment rose to €117.1 million in the second quarter and €228.4 million in the first half of the year,” which translates into increases of 2.8% and 4.7% year-on-year.
