Portugal’s president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will meet with former Brazilian presidents Lula da Silva, Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Michel Temer in São Paulo and will be received by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia.

These meetings were disclosed on Monday through a note on the official website of the Presidency of the Republic on Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s trip to Brazil next weekend to participate in the reinauguration of the Portuguese Language Museum in São Paulo.

“The president, who will be accompanied by the foreign minister, Augusto Santos Silva, will have meetings with representatives of the Portuguese communities in São Paulo and Brasilia. He will be in São Paulo with former presidents Michel Temer, Luís Lula da Silva and Fernando Henrique Cardoso and will be received in Brasilia by President Jair Bolsonaro,” the note said, without indicating dates.

This will be Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s fifth trip to Brazil as president, where he was in his first year in office, 2016, for the opening of the Olympic Games.

De Sousa has already been received once by Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia, in January 2018, the day after his inauguration as president of Brazil, which Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa attended.
