Portugal reports 196 Covid-19 cases, zero deaths in last 24 hours

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 196 new cases.

There are 196 new cases of coronavirus compared to Sunday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 829,358. No Covid-19 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 365  inpatients, 91 of them in intensive care units (ICU). There are over 15,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March last year, the coronavirus has caused the death of 16,965 people.
