YoY inflation rate stable at 0.5% in March – INE

The year-on-year change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained at 0.5% in March, the same rate as in the previous month and in line with the previous flash estimate, Statistics Portugal (INE) announced on Tuesday.
According to INE, the underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy products) registered a year-on-year change of 0.1%, 0.6 percentage points lower than in February.
The unprocessed foodstuffs aggregate recorded a year-on-year change of 1.3% in March (1.4% in the previous month), while the energy products index recorded a change of -2.4% (-3.0% in the previous month).
