Number of Covid-19 cases increases 1.87%. Death toll at 1,089

Portugal's Health authorities have identified 480 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus. 15 people died from Covid-19 on the last day.

Portugal has registered 480 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 1.87% over the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 26,182.

A further 15 people died from the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,089, according to the latest bulletin released by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

The number of recoveries exceeded 2,000, now standing at 2,076, 333 more than the previous day. There are still 838 patients hospitalized, of which 136 are in intensive care units.

The Northern region, which has been the most devastated region since the beginning of this public health crisis, accounts for 15,256 confirmed cases and 623 deaths. It is followed by Lisbon with 6,641 infected and 226 dead, and the Centro with 3,505 infected and 213 deaths.
