Despite the "many flights impacted" and the current high tourist season, TAP is doing its "best to minimise the impact of this situation".

An incident with a private jet and consequent closure of the runway at Lisbon airport on Friday affected and diverted many TAP flights to other airports, an official source from the airline told Lusa on Sunday.

“The runway at Lisbon airport was not operational for a few hours on Friday afternoon, July 1, due to an incident with a private jet. As a result, many TAP flights were affected and diverted to other airports,” the TAP source said.

Despite the “many flights impacted” and the current high tourist season, TAP is doing its “best to minimise the impact of this situation”.

On the basis of this response from TAP are questions from Lusa about the number of flights departing from or arriving in Lisbon that were cancelled or delayed on Saturday, and the passengers affected.

The official source from the airline said that passengers affected by this situation “should await a message from TAP with a new flight schedule”.

According to ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, 65 flights were cancelled on Saturday (40 arrivals and 25 departures) “due to several constraints at several European airports”.

As for today  (Sunday), and according to information available on the ANA website, 41 flights are expected to be cancelled (23 arrivals and 18 departures), most of which by TAP.
