Sonae Sierra to issue €25 million in sustainability-linked bonds
The company announced that will issue €25 million in sustainability-linked bonds, indexed to Sonae Sierra's performance in two sustainability indicators.
Sonae Sierra will issue €25 million in sustainability-linked bonds, indexed to the company’s performance in two sustainability indicators, it was announced this Thursday.
In a statement released this Thursday, Sonae Sierra said the two sustainability indicators are the company’s greenhouse gas emissions’ reduction and the increase of the waste-recycling rates in its shopping centres.
“This issue allows for the refinancing of a €25 million loan granted by BPI to Sonae Sierra, by converting it into sustainable financing,” the company said, specifying that the operation was fully arranged, mounted and subscribed by BPI.
Last week, the Sonae subsidiary had already announced the purchase and amortization of 250 bonds issued by it, in a total of €25 million, and it “no longer has securities admitted to trading on a regulated market”, according to a statement.
