Sonae Sierra will invest €42 million to build an office tower, with nine floors, in the business area of Porto. The project will be developed in partnership with the Ferreira Group, and is scheduled to be concluded by the end of 2023, according to a press release published by the company.

It is an office tower with around 19,000 square metres of gross construction area, comprising nine floors and 338 underground parking spaces. Each floor will have around 2,000 square metres, without barriers or columns, and balconies with a 360º panoramic view of the city, the statement said, not detailing the number of companies that will occupy the building.

The office tower will have a “contemporary architecture” since it will have large and flexible areas. It will have “special emphasis on flexibility, innovation and sustainability, prioritizing the quality of the spaces, and the comfort and well-being of people”, Sonae Sierra refers. The project was also designed through “demanding sustainability requirements”, in order to provide a high environmental and energy performance.

The project will be developed through a “50/50 partnership” between Sonae Sierra and the Ferreira Group. It will be a “state-of-the-art office complex in Porto’s Enterprise Zone, benefiting from a privileged location, with good access roads, an excellent public transportation network, private parking and outdoor green spaces”.

The licensing for the office tower has already been completed and construction is expected to start in the second half of 2022.
