Portuguese Kencko raises $10 million in Series A funding

The blender-free smoothie company intends to use this investment to expand the business into new categories.

The Portuguese startup Kencko raised a total of $10 million in Series A funding. The company founded by Tomás Fores intends to expand the business into new categories.

Siddhi Capital led this round and was joined by the Portuguese Indico Capital, Next View Ventures, Riverside Ventures, Silas Capital, Cheyenne Ventures, Shilling Capital, Gather Ventures, Nextblue Ventures and Mission Point.

The blender-free smoothie company intends to use this investment to expand the business into new categories. With this operation, Kencko has already received a total funding of $13.5 million.

“With this raise, we’re poised to increase what we like to call ‘Kencko moments’ for our members: to offer hassle-free nutrition throughout the day,” Tomás Froes, co-founder and CEO, told TechCrunch, adding that the company will “continue to be focused on helping more people transition to healthier habits by increasing their day-to-day intake of fruit and vegetables. We have a number of exciting new products we are working on, and you should expect us to begin dipping our toes in brick-and-mortar retail this upcoming year.”
