The national airline announced on Friday that plans to operate 879 flights per week on a total of 100 routes in August.

TAP plans to operate 879 flights per week on a total of 100 routes in August, eight of which are domestic, the carrier said on Friday.

However, the company noted that planning is done according to the evolution of the pandemic and consequent contingencies, to which is added demand and profitability of routes.

The Portuguese airline will increase flights to Madeira in the coming months, and in August will have five daily flights from Lisbon to Funchal and two departing from Porto, while for Porto Santo, the company will resume operations in June with five weekly flights.

In turn, TAP will have 22 weekly flights to the Azores in August.

“To Ponta Delgada, there will be 12 flights a week departing from Lisbon and three flights a week departing from Porto. The Lisbon-Terceira route will have a daily flight”.

In August, between Lisbon and Porto, TAP will operate four flights per day, whilst between Lisbon and Faro, it will have three flights per day.

TAP recently announced eight new routes for the summer to Europe and Africa, namely to Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Santiago de Compostela, Zagreb, Djerba, Agadir, Monastir and Oujda.

In total, the company will thus operate 555 weekly flights to European destinations and 83 to African destinations in August.

In Africa the company will have six flights per week to Luanda, three to Maputo, three to Bissau, four to Sao Tome, 10 to Praia, three to Sal and seven to Sao Vicente.

The air carrier will also have 61 flights per week between Portugal and Brazil and, for North America, 51 flights per week to Boston, Newark, Chicago, Washington, San Francisco, Toronto and Montreal.

Additionally, it will have three weekly flights between Lisbon and Cancun.

“Over the next three months, TAP will gradually restore its operations, albeit with a slow recovery due to the legal constraints that currently exist on the mobility of people and air traffic”.
