10,663 new cases and 159 deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 10,663 new cases.

There are 10,663 new cases of coronavirus compared to Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 528,469. 159 people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 4,560 inpatients, 622 of them in intensive care units. There are over 142,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 8,543 people, 159 of them in the last 24 hours.
