The number of municipalities subject to tighter measures may rise to 150. The Prime Minister will reassess the country's health situation this Thursday.

The control methods for the health crisis are currently differentiated in the country according to the incidence of Covid-19. There are 121 municipalities in which the measures are more restrictive, but this number is likely to rise to 150, according to Correio da Manhã.

cmoThe Portuguese government had already admitted the possibility of adopting additional measures in the municipalities most affected and this Thursday will reassess the sanitary situation in the country. Based on the Directorate-General for Health’s information, the Prime Minister will decide which municipalities will be subject to tighter measures.

From the current list of 121 municipalities, it is admitted that some municipalities will be excluded due to the reduction in the number of contagions, but, at the same time, is expected that this list will include municipalities where the situation is getting more serious. Given the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases, the government is considering taking drastic measures at the beginning of December if the contagion rate does not register a reduction by the end of November.
