1,949 new cases and 17 deaths by Covid-19 in Portugal. Country passes 100,000 infections

The number of people infected with coronavirus continues to increase and, in the last 24 hours, there have been 1,949 new cases.

There are 1,949 new cases of coronavirus compared to Sunday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 101,860. 17 people have died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official report of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).

Of the total number of infected, most are undergoing treatment at home, with 1,174 inpatients, 165 of them in intensive care units. There are over 55,000 under the surveillance of the health authorities.

Since it was detected in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 2,198 people, 17 of them in the last 24 hours.
