The Portuguese company registered a turnover of 10 million in August, 66% above the previous year.

The pandemic has practically stopped the economic activity of many companies. With the deconfinement, from May, business has returned, boosting in the summer months. That’s exactly what Vista Alegre is experiencing, which in August beat the turnover generated in the same month last year. The company registered a turnover of 10 million euros.

“Grupo Vista Alegre reached a turnover of 10 million euros in August, surpassing the same period y/y in 66% (6 million euros), continuing to show a sign of the gradual recovery of its activity in the face of the pandemic situation that we currently live, in Portugal and in the world.”, says the company in a press release sent to CMVM.

“The segments that contributed most to this recovery were Ovenware and Tableware, essentially with sales to countries such as France, Holland and Spain.” In retail, despite stores reopening from July, this August, sales remained below those of August 2019 (-1.2%), while the online business skyrocketed: it had a growth of 184%.

With a strong August growth, “Grupo Vista Alegre reached a total turnover of 64.4 million euros at the end of August 2020”. “Despite the drop seen in the same period y/y, the positive signs of an upturn in activity are already evident,” notes the company.

“A scenario of uncertainty continues to exist, in view of the evolution of the pandemic crisis that we are going through, but, maintaining a positive evolution of the macroeconomic scenario, taking into account the contracts won, and the trend of monthly growth registered in the last 3 months, the remaining 2020 months will be a gradual recovery in sales of Vista Alegre,” it added.
