203 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Portugal in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people rises to 50,613.

Portugal has registered 203 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is an increase of 0.4% compared to the previous day, with the total number of infected people rising to 50,613. Three more people died due to the Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,725, according to the latest balance sheet of the Directorate-General of Health (DGS).

Following what has been observed in recent weeks, most new infections have been observed in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. 146 new cases were detected in this region, which represents almost 72% of the total. The three deaths flagged in this Wednesday’s bulletin occurred in this region.

The most recent balance sheet also shows the existence of 403 people hospitalized, two more than yesterday. There are still two more patients admitted to intensive care units, whose total is now 43.
