135 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Portugal in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people rises to 50,299.

There are 135 new cases of coronavirus compared to Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 50,299. This is an increase of 0.27% over the previous day. In the last 24 hours, two more people have died from the disease, according to the latest update from Portugal’s health authorities.

Following what has been observed since mid-May, most new infections have been recorded in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. 101 new cases have been identified in this region, which represents about 75% of the total. That is, more than seven out of ten new infections have been detected in this region.

Lisbon is the region with the most cases registered so far (25,549 cases of infection and 586 deaths), ahead of the North (18,503 cases and 588 deaths), the Centro (4,411 cases and 252 deaths), the Algarve (853 cases and 15 deaths) and the Alentejo (691 cases and 21 deaths). In the autonomous regions, the Azores have 165 cases and 15 deaths, while Madeira has 105 infected people.
