There are 313 new cases of coronavirus in Portugal. Death toll at 1,689

313 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Portugal in the last 24 hours. The total number of infected people rises to 49,692.

There are 313 new cases of coronavirus compared to Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 48,077. This is an increase of 0.63% over the previous day. In the last 24 hours, seven more people have died from the disease, according to the latest update from Portugal’s health authorities.

Following what has been observed since mid-May, most of the new infections were in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. 253 new cases were identified in this region, which represents 80.83% of the total. This means that eight out of ten new infections were detected in this region.

Lisbon is thus the region with the most registered cases so far (25,110 cases of infection and 582 deaths), ahead of the North (18,441 cases and 828 deaths), the Centre (4,392 cases and 252 deaths), the Algarve (817 cases and 15 deaths) and the Alentejo (667 cases and 20 deaths). In the autonomous regions, the Azores have 160 cases and 15 deaths, while Madeira has 105 infected people.
