There are 339 new cases of coronavirus in Portugal. Death toll at 1,679

The number of cases of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 47,765. Since the outbreak was detected in the country, 1,679 people have died.

There are 339 new cases of coronavirus compared to Wednesday, bringing the total number of people infected with the disease to 47,765. The Lisbon and Tagus Valley region continues to concentrate the highest number of new infections, with 80.8% of the total. So far 1,679 people have died and there are 32,476 cases of recovery.

Of the total number of infected people, most are undergoing treatment at home, with only 476 being hospitalized, of which 72 are in intensive care. There are 1,542 people awaiting laboratory results and over 34,000 under surveillance by health authorities.

Since it appeared in Portugal at the beginning of March, the coronavirus has caused the death of 1,679 people, three of them in the last 24 hours. As for the number recovered, it stands at 32,476.
