Covid-19 death rate increases with 13 more dead, 418 new infections

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) registered 13 more deaths from Covid-19, all in the Lisbon region and the highest number since the end of May. A

Portugal on Thursday registered 13 more deaths from Covid-19, compared to Wednesday, and a further 418 confirmed cases of infection, of which 328 were in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, according to figures from the health authorities (DGS).

According to the daily epidemiological bulletin, the total number of deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic is now 1,644 and the total number of confirmed cases is 45,277.

Of the 418 new patients with Covid-19, about 78% are from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. This is the trend that has been seen in recent months and which emerges on the day when the government is expected to extend for another 15 days the stricter measures that are in force in 19 parishes in the capital area.
