According to Confidencial Imobiliário, the house prices in Portugal rose 0.5% in April, compared to the previous month.

The sale price of houses in mainland Portugal registered a slight increase, of 0.5%, in April compared to March, according to the price index of real estate database Confidencial Imobiliário published on Monday.

This result proves the resilience of the national residential market which, in the first full month under the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, maintained the trend of stability in the behaviour of prices in the short term, Confidencial Imobiliário said in a statement.

The index explained that these data confirm the figures for March, in which the monthly variation of housing prices was 0.4%.

In year-on-year terms, compared to the same month of 2019, the residential price index rose 15% in April, also levelled off with the levels of March (15.6%) and slowing down from the pace of appreciation with which the market began the year when it reached a year-on-year appreciation of around 17.0%.

The residential price index of Confidencial Imobiliário follows the valuation of the housing market in Portugal from the actual transaction prices.
