The price at which banks value properties for granting credit rose 11 euros between August and September.

The evaluation made by banks to homes, at the time of granting financing to families, returned to increase in September, reaching a record. According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the value of the square meter rose for the 30th consecutive month, averaging 1,299 euros.

Between August and September, there was an increase of 11 euros (0.9%) in the bank’s value evaluation, and if we make the comparison with September of last year, we verify it that the average value of the evaluations grew 7.8%.

The average value of the bank evaluation of the houses set last month is the highest in the public’s history statistics office, whose beginning dates back to September 2008. The direction of this indicator ends up monitoring the rise in property prices in Portugal.

Considering the example of a property of 100 square meters and the value of the bank valuation, a house that valued one year ago for 120.5 thousand euros, today is worth 129.9 thousand euros. That is another 9,400 euros on average.
