Cases of Covid-19 rise to 21,379. Death toll at 762
The number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has increased to 21,379. There are now 762 deaths.
The Portuguese health authorities found 516 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the country from 20,863 to 21,379, representing a daily growth rate of 2.47%.
Data collected by the Directorate General for Health (DGS) also show that the virus has caused the death of 27 people in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll from the disease to 762.
This Tuesday’s epidemiological bulletin reveals that the country’s north continues to be the region most affected by the Pandemic, with 12,806 confirmed cases and 441 deaths from Covid-19 since the outbreak began. It is followed by Lisbon, with 4,896 confirmed cases and 133 deaths.
Most patients are being medically followed at home, while 1,172 people are hospitalized, 213 of whom are in intensive care units.
